A collection of stories about Rupert, a bear who lives with his parents in a house in Nutwood, a fictional idyllic English village, where he finds himself in lots of adventures with his other anthropomorphic friends. Created by Mary Tourtel, a British artist best known as the creator of the comic strip Rupert Bear. Written and illustrated by Alfred Bestall, a British author who wrote and illustrated Rupert Bear for the London Daily Express, from 1935 to 1965. This set includes: Rupert, 1977. With stories including: Rupert and the Fire-Lighter, Rupert and the Wonder Machine, and Rupert and the Silent Land. Rupert, 1978. With stories including: Rupert and the Rivals, Rupert and the Squire, and Rupert and the Secret Shell. Rupert, 1979. With stories including: Beppo's Jungle Cousins, Rupert and the Penguins, and Rupert and the Ice Skates. In the original pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, very smart with minor bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small handling mark.
