Item description from seller

Hardcover, no DJ 1st Edition, 351 pages + full page illustrations. Collins 1969 London. Condition: Very Good/Near Fine: very minor signs of use on cover/top page edge, otherwise book itself Fine - no markings, damage, tears etc (appears unread), downgrade as no dj, if so be Near Fine/Fine. Covers the last decades of the Romanov Dynasty in Russia, focusing esp on the constant Russian interventionism in the Balkans/Danubian Provinces during the 1800s, leading up to the Russian backed Serbian Governments' planned assassination of Arch-Duke Ferdinand, the Austrian Habsburgs' Crown Prince, in 1914. Thus the use of "Cold War" referring to the near constant state of war between the Russian Empire & the Ottoman/Turkish Empire especially in the states of Wallachia & Moldavia.

Store description

We've spent decades collecting & selling books, atlases, antique maps & much more. Time to spread my online presence to help a more people find that rare or unusual history book, or stunning antique maps & atlases. We will be replacing our inventory regularly & as a rule we only sell items in Very Good Plus condition or better. The majority of the history books we sell are largely based within the years 1000-1950, and are largely European or Middle East related. We also sell genuine antique maps & atlases generally from the 1700 & 1800's, plus related geographical pieces. Our books are predominantly political, academic, biographic, history & military books - anything you need, just ask & hopefully we can find it so you. The same applies to our antique maps, we have a large unlisted inventory in storage, so want to see somewhere between 1700-1900 likely to be able to help. Any other questions at all - please message.
