Item description from seller

Content Description. The SAGE Encyclopedia of Social Science Research Methods is a comprehensive, three-volume reference work covering the concepts, principles, and applications of quantitative and qualitative research in the social sciences. Edited by Michael S. Lewis-Beck, Alan Bryman, and Tim Futing Liao, the encyclopedia brings together contributions from leading scholars to provide accessible explanations of research terminology, statistical procedures, methodological approaches, and research designs. Containing more than 900 entries, the encyclopedia addresses subjects ranging from basic research concepts to sophisticated analytical techniques. Topics include experimental and quasi-experimental designs, survey research, sampling, measurement, reliability and validity, regression analysis, analysis of variance, multivariate statistics, ethnography, qualitative interviewing, narrative analysis, and numerous other methods used across the social sciences. Entries range from concise definitions to extended discussions examining the historical development, theoretical foundations, practical applications, and limitations of particular methods. Many include examples, bibliographic references, and recommendations for further reading. Organized alphabetically across three volumes (A–F, G–P, and Q–Z), the set includes extensive cross-referencing and an index to facilitate locating specific research concepts and techniques. An authoritative reference for researchers, university faculty, graduate students, and academic libraries in sociology, psychology, education, political science, public health, and related disciplines. The set was selected for the American Library Association's 2005 Outstanding Reference Sources list, and its original published price was $550. Condition Description. Very Good. Complete three-volume hardcover set, originally obtained directly from a SAGE Publications representative as complimentary review copies. Single-owner set, with no previous institutional or private ownership. All three volumes have sound bindings and clean, well-preserved interior pages.
