11.75" X 9" in flimsy paper covers. Front cover is heavily soiled/stained along top & fore edges. Back cover more lightly soiled. Covers starting to separate along spine ridge. Staples have more or less disintegrated in the later half of the magazine, so those pages are present, but not actually attached. This is Volume 21, No. 10 of this rare and most unusual Victorian magazine devoted to men's fashions. The covers have definately seen better days, but the contents are excellent. The magazine seems to have been aimed at fine tailors, upscale sellers of men's clothing, and fabric importers. It contains the official report of the Eleventh Annual Convention of the Merchant Tailors' National Exchange [a trade union??]. There is an article declaring that "Tailoring is Artistic." Also brief articles on other subjects. In addition, there are 36pp of really splendid old advertising, most of it illustrated. Many of the merchants have pictures of their buildings accompanying their ads. The street scenes sometimes show horse-drawn vehicles. There is also a measured diagram for a "business cutaway" jacket. Great Stuff!!
