Octavo (9.5 inches). 20 & 21 George V, Chapter 41 (Statutes of Canada). Caption title, 11 pages. Neatly extracted from a bound volume and expertly mended. Saskatchewan had not been given control over its natural resources when it entered Confederation in 1905, which was contrary to the situation for other provinces of the Dominion of Canada. After protracted negotiations, the federal government agreed to the transfer of the administration of public lands and natural resources to the provincial government, the details of which were confirmed in this Act. The legislation covered management of public lands, school lands funds and school lands, water, fisheries, Native Reserves, soldier settlement lands, national parks, historic sites, and bird sanctuaries. The right of Natives to hunt, trap and fish for food at all seasons of the year on all unoccupied Crown lands and other lands to which they had right of access were maintained.
