Green Paper covered boards with black titles and illustrations, 195 x 155 mm approx. viii + 152 pp. First Edition 1934. The lively doings of "Black Rod" a.k.a.Roderick Dhu the Scottie Dog created by author and illustrator C B Poultney which first appeared in the Daily Sketch newspaper. VG/VG (Book- Light general shelf wear to boards, offset browning to end papers with ink previous owner name to front, book block slightly cocked with hint of dust/ foxing spots to top edge. Dust Jacket - light shelf soiling, loss around head and tail of spine of up to 10 mm approx in depth with 2 cm tear to tail/rear fold. No other notable defects to book or jacket, the later now in a removable proprietary protective sleeve to which coloured paper has been inserted in front of the backing paper so as not to draw the eye on the book shelf) The author's charming illustrations make this book a prize for any Scottie Dog owner.Now quite difficult to source particularly with it's dust jacket.
