First edition. Original violet/brown cloth. Also seen in green. No priority established. Titles stamped in gold on the front cover and spine. Re-backed with original ( faded) spine laid down. Original chocolate brown end papers replaced with hand-made marbled papers that complement the binding. Some fading to top edge of front board where it was stored on a shelf with a smaller book . Some rubbing to bottom rails. A Faint previous owner's blind stamp to original end paper. A SCARCE very early bibliomystery title with antiquarian books, book-selling and book auctions featuring prominently in the plot!Printed in double columns. Binding tight. No foxing. A sophisticated copy with as little restoration possible to preserve the book . VERY GOOD+. Serious inquiries welcomed. More pictures on request. Seller Inventory # JD4558
