Large thick quarto, publisher's brown cloth binding with titles in gilt on the spine and embossed gilt design of crossed scimitars on the front panel. Original beige dust jacket with black titles on front panel and spine. The First Edition published for General Circulation, by Jonathan Cape in 1935. This is the correct first printing, with the copyright page reading "Privately Printed 1926 / First Published For genral Circulation / 1935" with no statement of reprinting. 672 pp. Illustrated. All maps and portraits of the various personalities Lawrence describes are present. Of note are the incorrect page numbers for the line drawing titled 'A Forced Landing'. In the list of illustrations it is incorrectly indicated as being on pages 302-303 when it is in fact on pages 304-305. This error was corrected in later impressions. A clean, tight, Very Good Plus copy in a Good to Very Good dust jacket with minor creasing and signs of use, small stains, and a few closed tears repaired internally with old tape, there is also some internal tape (unnecessarily) reinforcing the folds. Winston Churchill called this "the greatest book to be written in the English language".
