CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The author, as a war correspondent for a Philadelphia newspaper, here provides a historical narrative of the early summer of 1862. The book covers the events leading up to the Seven Days Battles, including the Union Army's attempt to capture Richmond. It provides a detailed account of the strategic maneuvers and battles that took place during this time. Scarce, wartime publication of great. interest.
