In 1935 Soddy and several other Fellows of The Royal Society revolted against its administration. He wrote: "It is a serious charge, but I say quite definitely, that many a scientist that deserves election to The Royal Society has been kept out because he does not know the right people." - The Daily Telegraph, December 3, 1935.
