This is a UK first edition hardcover published by Andrew Melrose in 1946. The jacket is Good overall condition with chips to the spine ends and back panel. It is clipped, but still shows the price of 6/- net. Note the misprinted author name on the jacket - CASSELS as opposed to CASSELLS, which is how the author's name should be spelled and is noted as such on the title page. The book is in Near Fine condition with overall straight spine, sharp corners and firm spine ends. The pages are toned. The copyright page does not refer to a printing history, which in itself signifies the first printing, however further evidence is confirmed by mention of Murder Comes to Rothesay as the author's only other published book - which is correct; Sons of the Morning was his second. *** AIR MAIL POSTAGE OUTSIDE THE UK IS LESS THAN STATED. ***. I charge shipping that reflects my actual costs. I do NOT offer cheap shipping and add it to the book price so please do not complain to me that Bob down the road offers cheaper postage. Sure he does - but the price of his book is hiked to reclaim it, or you're referring to a power seller who can negotiate postage discounts. I can't - I'm a private individual selling my private collection. ABE only allows me to set one postage rate so I charge the rate for hardbacks sent in a box with bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts. Where postage is less - eg a paperback or small hardback - I refund the difference once I get my receipts and know the exact cost. ALL UK parcels are tracked. if you live outside the UK tracking is NOT provided unless you choose priority mail. PRIORITY MAIL TRACKING IS IMMEDIATELY UPDATED otherwise I will only update ABE with UK tracking details on request, and only when 10 working days has passed. There will be times when, due to the value of the book, I will insist on priority mail and this will be clearly stated in my listing. If you ignore this, your order will be refused.
