First edition, hard cover. Green boards with gilt lettering. Boards are bumped at the head and tail of spine. Binding neat and tidy, yet book leans to the left. Pages are discoloured at the edges, due to the age of the book. Head edge stained red. Black-and-white plates clear and concise. Some light foxing of the edges, as well as free endpapers, yet in fair condition. Dust wrapper is thumbed and shows general wear and tear. Spine sunned. Well sunned and discoloured (see image). Edges are showing many a chip and small tear. Back cover has sustained considerable damage, with large proportion missing, so too spine. Fold backs are intact. We have preserved this dust wrapper in a neat plastic sleeve, yet it is in poor condition. *We always describe the faults of our books meticulously but they usually present better than they sound.
