1st edition thus, 1916. A Very Good book. 8vo., 232 pp., bound in publishers blue cloth with titles in gilt on front cover and spine. Minor signs of shelf wear only. End papers toned, text appears unmarked. Father Coppens was born in Belgium May 24, 1835, and at the age of eighteen set out for the Indian missions of America. He joined the Society of Jesus in the Province of Missouri, and studied philosophy at St. Louis University. Completing his theological course at Woodstock College, Maryland, he returned to St. Louis to occupy the chair of philosophy at the university.
