Here, he offers a monograph that provides an overview of the periods listed, with the hope "that others will go on to develop the many rich phases which here have only been outlined." Covers partially sunned at edges and spine, previous owner's stamp to title page, wrinkling (exposure to water) to fore-edges throughout. A fairly nice copy, despite the dampstaining. Scarce in first edition, but as common as dirt in the inferior 2021 Hassell Street Press reprint edition. Size: Small quarto.
