Published in London in 1823 this is the First Edition of this very rare Irish Anti Catholic Poem addressed to the protestants of the British Empire, signed with the pseudonym of Clericus Hibernicus, and dedicated to George Lord Kenyon, described as The Zealous and Indefatigable Supporter of Civil and Religious Liberty in and out of Parliament, and of its Great Bulwark The Protestant Ascendancy, written at the time of the Catholic emancipation Ireland none of the copies in the main institutional library collections are able to identify the author this copy is a presentation copy to the Poem?s Dedicatee Lord Kenyon, dated 30th June 1823 at the top of the title page, which most likely is from the author himself. I have not been able to clearly identify the signature, but with a bit of research it may be possible to do so the pamphlet is 23cm tall approx., 40 pages, the pamphlet was originally stab sewn, the stitching has gone leaving the pamphlet in three sections, most pages remain unopened along the leading and top edges (see pictures) covers a little soiled, some creasing wear, and dustiness to outer page edges else in good general condition A GOOD ACCEPTABLE EXAMPLE OF THIS VERY SCARCE PUBLICATION A PRESENTATION COPY WHICH MIGHT BE THE FIRST KNOWN COPY THAT IDENTIFIES THE AUTHOR.
