First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 239pp. Russet-coloured boards lettered in white at the spine. British Red Cross library plate to the front pastedown, and the same institutional inkstamp to the front free endpaper and to the corner of four text leaves. These defects aside, a very crisp and bright copy in slightly edgeworn non-price-clipped pictorial dust wrapper designed by Oliver Elmes, with several areas of tape repair and a large area of chafing and moisture marking to the rear panel.
