Octavo. 64pp. Original illustrated wraps with black, blue and white lettering on cover. Experiences in the German concentration camps in the East. Dramatic account of the Jewish Social Democrat Jeanette Wolff who was first imprisoned by the Nazis on May 5th, 1933. The reason given in the warrant of the arrest was "agitation of the national population." Wolff was sent to the women's penitentiary in Hamborn, Rhineland. Staggering first hand personal account of the treatment and suffering of Jewish citizens in the concentration camps in the Eastern territories, e.g. in Kaiserwald near Riga, Dünamünde, Salaspils, Mühlgraben, and Stutthof near Danzig, all the way to the horrid events near the end of the Nazi reign and eventual liberation and arrival back in Berlin on January 2, 1946. This copy contains editorial notations and corrections in the margins throughout, presumably by the author. Jeanette Wolff, Berl. Neukà lln, Jonasstr. 30 in handwriting on the title page. A passport photograph of the author and a small newspaper clip depicting atrocities committed by Nazis glued to title page. Text in German. Wear along edges of wraps, some light creasing, small chips and tears. Block age-toned and last three pages with tears at staple binding. Wraps and interior in overall good- to good condition.
