Edward Keble Chatterton (1878-1944) was a prolific author who wrote chiefly concerning maritime and naval subjects. In this work, Chatterton discusses ancient and modern sailing models, selecting specimens from private and public collections across Britain, Scandinavia, France, Germany, Holland, Spain and many other regions. To the rear of the work are 144 illustrations and seven plans, showing the best sailing models from history. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with fading to the spine and front board. Faint marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for offsetting to the end papers.
