This VG-, format #2 book (black rather than gold lettering, a darker shade of red binding than format #1) is in very nice condition; it is square and very clean; it lists only to the 1913 title in the "U. S. Service" series by Rolt-Wheeler and therefore may be a first edition. The exterior has no edge dings but does have minor corner bumps to both corners of the front board and mildly bumped head and heel of the spine; there is mild fabric damage at the head of the spine (see photo). The front panel appliqué has a few mild scrapes but is intact. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage. Frontis + 5 is intact, the paper is quite flexible, and though the paper covering each hinge is torn for about 3 or 4 inches, both hinges are strong and do not seem compromised by that damage. By and large, a quite respectable copy from what seems to be an uncommon series. Seller Inventory # BMR-2019-8-15-4
