About this Item
A first edition copy of this two-volume collection of tales from Haliburton's famous wise-cracking character Sam Slick. The first edition of this two volume set in the publisher's original cloth bindings. Thomas Chandler Haliburton (1796-1865) was a Nova Scotian politician, judge, and author. He created the character Sam Slick for a column in the Novascotian, whose satirical sketches are related in this two volume set. In the publisher's original cloth bindings. Externally fairly smart, with faint marks to the boards, bumping to the extremities and fading to the spines. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little age-toned and spotted throughout. Very Good.
