Extremely scarce Sammelband with the interesting first edition of the Trial - Report including "Ennis Assizes" which list the Counsel for the Trial brought by Reverend Charles Massy against Thomas Taylour, 1st Marquess of Headfort, who eloped with the Reverend's wife in 1803. The Trial awarded the Reverend subsequetly the stunning amount of 10000 Pound for "seducing and taking away the Plaintiff's wife" and included a number of eminent irish legal counsel and within the trial, John Philpot Curran held one of his most famous Speeches in which he makes the point: "Love might be a strong excuse for such conduct, because it is often too strong lor Law, Virtue or Morality - it becomes entitled therefore to human commiseration".
