Der seit 1901 in Dresden t�tige Pathologe Prof. Dr. med. Paul Geipel (1869-1956) |bergab zwischen 1943 und 1956/57 seine in Jahrzehnten zusammengetragenen Sammlungen - Gem�lde, Graphiken, plastische Bildwerke und Fotografien, Mineralien und fossile Objekte - dem Museum der Stadt Glauchau und dem Museum der bildenden K|nste Leipzig. Es war die wohl umfangreichste Schenkung im Osten Deutschlands. Der 150. Geburtstag des Mediziners, Sammlers und M�zens ist Anlass, die einzige noch nahezu vollst�ndig bestehende der grossen und kleineren Dresdner Privatsammlungen aus der ersten H�lfte des 20. Jahrhunderts vorzustellen und deren bildungsb|rgerlichen Hintergrund zu erhellen.
