G / VG+. 1st Printing of the 1961 Indiana 1st Edition thus, translated, with notes, by W. S. Merwin and with introduction by William S. Anderson. Book is tightly bound, uniformly age toned and, except for mild cocking, mild ripple to refp and signature inked to ffep, free of other blemishes and markings. Cover is clean and bright, with gently bumped corners, joints, headcap and tail, straight hinges, straight edges, small chip to bottom edge of rear board, and boldly legible, crisply distinct lettering. Dust Jacket is unclipped (still showing original USD $3.50 price), encased in protective mylar, mildly age toned, mildly rubbed along wraps and hinges; minor chipping to corners and joints, and small tear (no loss) on front hinge; none of the flaws affect crispness and clarity of lettering and artwork.
