216 pp. *First American edition* of this bracing eyewitness memoir. There is a dark smudge on the spine and a faint one on the lower rear board; light sunning upper edge of front and rear boards; pale blue top stain faded. Along fore edge of front paste-down, there is abrasion that affects both paper and linen. Within, the book is in fine shape and apparently unread. There are no marks of any kind, provenance or otherwise. Binding tight, paper stock bright. Unclipped DJ ($2.50) is generally fatigued but all there; price label removed (?) leaving small bare patch near title; G only; mylar covered. Count René de Chambrun, a descendant of the Marquis de Lafayette, was a French lawyer and legal expert who was sent as an emissary to the US to secure Roosevelt's aid in the defense of France. After the war, Chambrun devoted much of his life and reputation to the defense and rehabilitation of Pierre Laval, who had been tried and executed as a Vichy collaborator.

Our domestic (US) rates are based on a standard per-item weight of 2.2 lbs, or 1 kg. Shipping costs for added items are discounted if we can safely ship them together. If a single item exceeds our standard weight, we may request additional postage.
