The American composer's engaging one-act opera, based on a story by Anton Chekhov, was premiered with great success at the 1958 Spoleto Festival. 83 pages. CONDITION: A bright, square copy with light shelf-wear, its score pages unmarked and uncreased. This quite respectable copy is now in a clear, protective polypropylene bag with archival backing board, for safe storage and transport.
