The World Publishing Company, New York, 1971, stated first printing. Ludlum wrote a total of 27 thriller novels and is best known for his Borne Trilogy. This book, The Scarlatti Inheritance, was the very first of his novels to be published. Many of his works were made into movies but strangely enough this was not one of them. Producer Albert R. Broccoli had the rights to the film and Ingrid Bergman was penciled in as the star but she backed out because of the lengthy production schedule. This book, 358 pages, is in fine condition as is the rather unique acetate dust jacket. This is a bright, square indispensable item in any Ludlum collection. Seller Inventory # 9021
