About this Item
First Edition of Cooper's underground classic, his first novel written under his real name and the first of two he wrote during a two-year stint in prison for charges related to one of the main characters of this novel: drugs. Although hailed by critics upon its release, it failed to elevate Cooper to a station beyond the pulp-level of publishing he would maintain sporadically until his untimely death in 1978. Frayed to spine ends and corners; cocked spine; soiled text block; binding remains sound although a bit loose; Good condition. Hardcover octavo. Gray cloth with lettering stamped in maroon to spine. 310pp. Seller Inventory # 2643
