Each plate features three illustrations, numbered in sequence. Collated, lacking one plate, which should feature illustrations 34, 35 and 36.A delightful nineteenth century travel guide to Asia, written in an accessible manner for children.Taylor discusses various Asian countries, giving an overview of each one, and providing further engaging information. Countries mentioned include China, India, Siberia, Tibet, Arabia and more.With two advertisements leaves to the rear.Former owner's inscription, dated 1825 to half title.A charming and very scarce work. In the publisher's original calf backed paper covered boards. Rubbing to back strip head and tail, with bumping to board perimeters. Head and tail of front joint starting, with board holding firm.
