Hardcover 1st American printing - third overall printing (1956). The covers are in great shape. The binding is tight. The interior pages are unmarked. Small abrasion to the front flyleaf and there is a small chip out of the rear flyleaf. The book will be carefully packaged for shipment for protection from the elements. Each science proceeds by inventing general principles from which are deduced the consequences to be tested by observation and experiment; the author shows how the implications of this process explain some of its more baffling features and resolves many of the difficulties that philosophers have found in them. His exposition is by way of detailed examples.
