Near fine, first edition in good dust jacket. Blue cloth covered boards with gilt lettering and graphic, and decorative borders blind stamped at top and bottom; similar lettering, graphic and borders stamped in gilt on spine. Pages are uncut. External page edges are age-darkened. Internal text is clean and solid. White dust jacket is soiled overall, spine is darkened. Head of jacket spine has loss of 1 1/2". Spine folds are heavily rubbed with a 2 1/2" closed tears along the upper part of front fold and rub throughs on the lower part of front fold and several places on the back fold which is just holding. Los of 1/8" across width of jacket spine. Fore-edge folds are darkened and creased but not rubbed through. Upper right fore-edge corner of front panel has loss of 1/8" by 3/4" with adjacent 7/8" closed vertical tear along the fold. All other fore-edge corners are rubbed with loss of up to 1/4". Several additional chips and small closed tears along upper and lower edges. Inside flap corners are not clipped.
