Light blue cloth with titling in silver on the spine, small design in lighter blue on lower front cover. Glossy, tan, photo-pictorial dust-jacket, with lettering in blue & white, black on the spine, 0573 date code on the lower front inner flap. Yellow tan end-papers. The dust-jacket shows fading to the spine & edges, light creasing to the inner flaps. This copy has inserted a signed postcard sent to a Hart Crane scholar and book collector. The essay on Hart Crane (1899-1932) is Chapter IX. of this book: "Hart Crane A Memoir" (Pp. 191-215). The authors treated in this book include: E. E. Cummings, John Dos Passos, William Faulkner, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Hart Crane, Ernest Hemingway, Thomas Wolfe. The postcard measures 5 1/2 in. x 3 1/4 in., and is written in black ink: "August 21, 1971. I am grateful for your good photographs of Rowan oaks and of Hart Crane's tomb. They both bring back memories. Sincerly, Malcolm Cowley". Six cent Paul Revere U. S. postcard with image printed in brown, postmarked: Sherman, CT Aug 23 1971; addressed: Cowley-Sherman, Conn. 06784 and to the recipient in Bristolville, Ohio.
