Correspondence of the future Emperor of the French with various persons whilst President of France. Includes a study by noted author of the period Philip Guedalla. Includes 12*illustrations. ix+263pp. Previously owned by Wladyslaw Raczkiewicz, President of Poland in exile during the Second World War. There is an inscription to Raczkiewicz by Sir Harold Mitchell, 1st Baronet of Tulliallam dated Easter, 1944. Mitchell was the liaison officer between the British army and the HQ of Polish forces in exile who were based at Mitchell's estate in Tulliallam. Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering and decorarion. Board edges have shelf wear and spine is a little faded. Gift inscription is on the front free endpaper which is foxed. Pages are rough cut. Rear board is a little bowed. Seller Inventory # 206126
