Original brown cloth lettered and illustrated in black on boards. A co-operative effort between the publisher, Sheldon Press, and the SPCK, this book was also awarded first prize as the "best boy's story with a missionary interest" by the United Council for Missionary Education, London. Previous owner's name, Betty Short, together with the very good condition, suggests that the book was hardly read. Satisfies First Edition guidelines in that it has the prescribed 160 pp. and the 16-page catalog at the back is dated 1928. I re-inserted the frontispiece. The author was Headmaster of Bristol Grammar Preparatory School as well as a popular playwright and author of children's books. Size: 12mo - over 6�" - 7�" tall.
