Published Nov 1939, this copy is a 1st edition (2nd impression, which must have been simultaneous with the 1st impression since that was published on 28 Nov). Hardback with original unclipped (7s 6d) dust jacket. Cover in green cloth, gold spine titles, good condition. Binding firm. Text (380 pp) very good. Coloured illustrated endpapers. Name of former owner written on blank flyleaf. Dust jacket torn on back, small tears at top & bottom of spine & at corners, spine discoloured.
