This group is generally subdivided into two main units:Jeffersonville Limestone: A light to brownish-gray limestone and dolostone that includes the Geneva Dolomite Member. It is known for abundant fossil reefs, including classic coral beds historically well-exposed at the Falls of the Ohio.North Vernon Limestone: An overlying unit consisting of medium light-gray, fine- to medium-grained limestone that is slightly shal, and The guidebook details the stratigraphy and the depositional transitions moving up into the Devonian-Mississippian black shales, such as the Blocher and other members.
