First edition. 8vo. 222pp. Rebound in dark green buckram, wih titles in gilt. A very good copy of a scarce work. Dorothy Macardle was born in Dundalk the daughter of a wealthy brewer famous for Macardle Ales. She was educated in Alexandra College and U.C.D. She returned to teach in Alexandra College as a teacher of English. She proved to be one of the most popular and inspirational of the teachers there. She worked with De Valera for most of her life. She was a founding member of Fianna Fail in 1926. She is best remembered for her work "The Irish Republic", 1937. Seller Inventory # 18633
