Original vellum. Only edition. An index to the essays of Midrash Rabbah on the entire Bible, by R. Menasseh Ben Israel. Concordance of Biblical verses recorded in the Midrash. [2], 53; [1], 25 leaves. Tiny, very old, owner's signature, in Hebrew, at the top left corner of title page: "Shmuel di Kesarish." A known author. Menasseh be Israel's first published work. The printing was subsidized by Menasseh's friends, Messrs. Ephraim bueno and Jonah Abarbanel. The work is prefaced by a commendatory poem of Isaac Aboab. Index for the commentaries dispersed throughout the Medrash Raba, arranged according to the order of the Torah, Prophets and Hagiographa. A special section for the five Megillot with a separate title page. Two parts in one volume, divisional title prior to Five Scrolls.
