Complete in two (2) volumes, uniformly bound in full original calf, with horizontal gilt bands on spine panels. Vol. I: The History of Tom Jones; Vol. II: The History of Joseph Andrews, Amelia, and The Life of Jonathan Wild. Leather shows surface rubbing/scutting, with some scaling to spine panel of Vol. I, title labels lacking. Firm bindings, contents generally clean and showing the expected mild foxing/tanning. 424 + 450 pp., Vol. I w/ engraved frontis. portrait of the author. A relatively early American edition of Fielding. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
