First Edition (first printing) of the first West End play by the dramatist and Mary Whitehouse-provocateur. 8vo. 121pp. Red boards lettered in silver at the spine. A narrow strip of light partial browning to the free endpapers. Very good in slightly tanned and edgeworn non-price-clipped dust wrapper. This copy formerly owned by actress Bridget Turner, with 'Biddy T'. in pencil to the head of the front free endpaper. Bridget (Biddy) Turner played the roll of 'Avril Hadfield' in the original October 1963 production at the Belgrade Theatre Coventry, where she starred alongside Leonard Rossiter and Ian McKellen; all three actors were replaced when the play transferred to London.
