As serving officers in the British Army were not permitted to publish works under their own names, he was given the name "Sapper" by Lord Northcliffe, owner of the Daily Mail.McNeile was one of the most successful British popular authors of theinter-war period. Front hinge is tender and rear hinge is slightly strained to 'No Man's Land', but both hinges remain firmly held by cords. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for offsetting and spotting to the end papers. A little age toning to the pages of 'The Human Touch'. Scattered spotting to the fore edge of 'Shorty Bill', affecting the occasional page. Very Good.…
