The novel tells the story of the Baudelaire orphans being sent to live with the owner of Lucky Smells Lumbermill; yet Count Olaf appears again with a new plot and disguise. Lemony Snicket is the pen name of American novelist Daniel Handler (born February 28, 1970). Snicket is also a charactor who appears within the series.
