FIRST UK EDITION published simultaneously in 1896 with the US edition, though there were variations in the text. This first UK edition contains three poems that weren't in the American edition: The Answer; The Lost Legion; In the Neolithic Age. Title page with small b&w vignette illustration. With 39-pages of publisher's catalogue ads dated October 1896 bound in at rear. Printed by T. & A. Constable, Printers to Her Majesty at the Edinburgh University Press. Bound in publisher's original maroon cloth with gilt lettering to spine, top edge gilt, both fore-edge & lower edge uncut. Handling wear, rubbing to boards, wear to spine ends, penciling to two pages, otherwise a nice clean tight solid hardcover copy. 230pp + 39pp ads. SB-43.
