Dr. Reiss was a pioneering researcher and educator whose work, primarily at the University of Minnesota and the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex, aimed to broaden the theoretical and scientific framework used in the study of human sexuality, the family and gender roles. Reiss and the author were close contemporaries in the evolving field of sexual studies, and both were instrumental in founding the SSSS and the organization's standard-bearing journal, The Journal of Sex Research. Binding is tight, sturdy, and square; light wear to edges of tan cloth boards, red titling remains bold; text is very good throughout; photo plates in back.
