Synopsis:

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows! The Master of Darkness investigates criminal conspiracies in two classic pulp thrillers by Walter B. Gibson writing as "Maxwell Grant." First, The Dark Avenger seeks to unmask The Five Chameleons, criminal masterminds whose uncanny ability to blend with their surroundings rivals his own (reprint from the November 1, 1932 issue of The Shadow Magazine). Then, The Shadow feels the savage sting of The Wasp in his first confrontation with one of his deadliest arch-foes (reprint from the October 1, 1940 issue of The Shadow Magazine). The book showcases the original color covers of George Rozen and Graves Gladney, and the original black-and-white interior illustrations of Tom Lovell, Earl Mayan, and Edd Cartier. Includes commentary by pulp historian Will Murray.
