May Sarton was the pen name of Eleanore Marie Sarton (1912 - 1995), a Belgian-American novelist, poet, and memoirist. Although her best work is strongly personalized with erotic female imagery, she resisted the label of 'lesbian writer', preferring to convey the universality of human love. This copy is very good+ in black cloth with gilt titles on the spine. Very slight fading at top edge. Slight bumping of spine ends. Minor tape residue on both pastedowns. The ink name of a previous owner is on the title page. No other marks or damage. The unclipped DJ shows minor edge wear. GZ.
