There is a copy at the Free Library of Philadelphia for In-Library use only.Appears to be part of a series of three volumes by Poteat on the last week of Jesus' life. The series includes: 1) These Shared His Passion: Studies in the Last Week of the Life of Jesus (published 1940) 2) These Shared His Cross: Studies in the Last Day of the Life of Jesus (published 1941) 3) These Shared His Power: Studies in the Days Following the Resurrection of Jesus (published 1941) In 1948 there was published "These shared His Passion, Cross and Power - A Lenten Trilogy" by Poteat which appears to contain / combine the three previous volumes. From the front jacket flap of "These Shared His Cross,", "A great drama is here vividly and tensely unfurled. Historic and legendary characters assume life-like proportions and play their part as spectators of the Cross, by which their processes of thought and practices of conduct are brought to judgment. . . .The lictor who scourged Jesus, Simon of Cyrene who carried His Cross, the women who lamented Him, the crowds that railed on Him, the malefactors who died with Him, the centurion who crucified Him, and Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus who buried Him - these shared His Cross. . . . . The total effect of this book is to give the reader an original experience of the Cross, allowing him to cut behind the theologizing of the centuries, and to watch the tragedy as though it were being played on a staage. With each narrative and character study, the author has added a searching discussion that makes clear the full meaning of the Cross to all of life.".
