YA A book sure to capture the interest of young adult readers, many of whom will be drawn to it by the terrifying stories and pictures it contains. These accounts include an attack on a shark expert in Australia who continues his interest in sharks even after losing his leg to one, sharks terrorizing a town in New Jersey ten miles from the sea, and a case in which a shark helps solve a murder. Written by several shark experts, including Ron and Valerie Taylor, underwater divers who helped film Jaws and Blue Waters, White Death, the book is divided into three sections: ``World of the Shark,'' ``Men and Sharks,'' and ``Facts about Sharks and Shark Attacks.'' It is well illustrated with numerous photographs, charts, and maps. They show the 350 species of sharks from the 59 dwarf to the 59-foot whale shark. In the introduction, the Taylors state their hope that readers will ``come away with a greater appreciation of a sadly misunderstood group of fascinating and complex creatures.''
