Despite cancellation of a meeting in Clontarf [1843] warrants were issued against O Connell and eight other traversers on charges of conspiring to undermine the constitution and alienating the armed forces from their allegiance." Here is the First Edition account of the subsequent trials. [O'Connell served three months of a 12-month sentence; the conviction was eventually overturned.] Uncommon in commerce.This is a disbound copy, completely lacking the covers and spine. However, the texblock is in excellent condition and firmly together. Clean text; 678 pages, with a one-page advert in the rear. Lightly toned, complete, including the yellow endpapers.This is an excellent candidate for a lovely rebind. [Please note the condition issues.
