The volume includes 250 breed descriptions, 32 pages of colour plates, plus black-and-white photos, line drawings, and a detailed appendix charting world sheep populations from 1960-1977. Ponting, long associated with the wool and textile industries and director of the Pasold Research Fund, provides a concise yet comprehensive treatment valuable to breeders, textile historians, and agricultural reference collections. This copy includes an inserted postcard and photo from the Scottish-goods shop 'The Scotland Yard,' suggesting mild regional provenance interest. A likely point of purchase. Book: Near Fine.
