A new stereotype edition, "with many corrections and improvements, carefully revised and improved," square 12mo, pp. xl, 455, 32, [1]; lexicon in double column; full contemporary sheep (a bit soiled), gilt panelled spine; edges scuffed, joints cracked but holding, contemporary bookseller's ticket on front pastedown; several ownership notes dating 1849-1857 by Griffith Jones, possibly a descendent of Stephen Jones's uncle, the author Griffith Jones (1722-1786). This revision first appeared under the title "Sheridan Improved" in 1798; the first stereotype edition appeared in 1816 (see DNB). Contents include "A Concise Account of the Heathen Deities, and other fabulous personages; as also the principal heroes and heroines of antiquity," with separate pagination at the end.
